i'm one of those who read the first few books a few months after its first release. i was at the first night screening of the first book's movie, then waited for almost year for the next book (which i just borrow and usually have to read for one night since there's a long queue hehe), and the next movie, and 10 years later, there i was, sitting at the last row of the cinema, a mixture of anticipation for how they've visualized the last part of the book, and sadness, as this is the last, after all.
i'd have to say, i agree with J.K. Rowling, David Yates outdid himself with this one. it wasn't cheesy and over the top, as would be easy to do with a material so rich. and at the same time, it did the series justice. the perfect ender. it wasn't word for word, as is expected from movies made from books, but it actually worked. the took out things and kept what was essential to tell the story, and yet they kept the continuity flowing really good.
all in all, i really enjoyed it. and i'd like to make a quick shout out to my hubby who came with me even though i know he didn't get it that much ("anong klaseng game yun nasa walis pa sila, bakit di nalang nila i-magic para maka-score" and "ganun na yun, minagic lang patay na, ambilis"... so muggle of you hubbs, but i love you more for it :D )
i laughed, i cried (omg, how many times, kahit di nakakaiyak na teary-eyed ako hahaha! kamusta yan), there's my childhood friend. they all grew up with me.
for a decade of magic, thank you.
and yes, i'll always, ALWAYS, be coming back to Hogwarts :D
as an added oomph, i did my nails in honor of the last book. hehehe! its not much, and halfway through making my right hand, i wish i had a wand. LOL.
cheers to the boy-who-lived, you-know-who's equal, to the master of death. and to each and every character that made this decade just so magical. i'll see you all again, till the next time that i open my book :)
