Toddlers day 3

Sooo, just want to try email posting and at the same time, make an update. Finally.
If you're a friend in fb, you'll know that we've just started getting the kids used to sleeping in a toddler bed. Yes, they have long graduated infancy and are now toddlers, now how and when that happened, im not too sure either as it was so fast it caught me off guard as well.
Besides, they both now know how to climb out of their cribs and while sharlene had known how for a long time now, sean learning it is a different story. Because at least shar can keep her balance and would tend to stay close to us or wake us up. But sean, oh he's waaaay different. And when he busted his lip when he climbed out of his crib after his nap, we went straight to kmart and bought them each a toddler bed.

The first night was a struggle. While sharlene fell asleep right away, (which i kinda expected since she's a pretty good sleeper) sean was putting up a fight, refusing to stay in his bed and eager to wake up his sister. Later that night he successfully woke her up, but after a few mins of playing she went back to sleep. And while its a big accomplishment for us to see that they both aced climbing up and down their beds (means less likely to fall off it) the first night became more tricky than we already expected.
Sean eventually fell asleep and while my hubby and I tapped each other's back after that, we already know that we'll still have a long night ahead. As the challenge is not in putting them to bed, but in keeping them in bed.
So yes, when i heard 2 kids chattering 'Dadagomadupanana' at 3am, i half expected it already. Sean almost always wakes up in the middle of the night, and with what he showed that night and the freedom he has now to move around, he's bound to wake up his twin.
So like clockwork, i grabbed two diapers, made 2 bottles of milk and entered their rooms. Right by the door, i knew something was wrong already, and it hit my nose first. It was so strong and unexpected that i had to take a step back.
And as i turn on the lights, it felt like a bucket of ice cold water was suddenly thrown at my face.
There was vomit all over the room and all over both sean and sharlene. It was like a scene from a horor flick. I had to wake up my hubby, i need some reinforcement!
So yes, in the middle of the night i was scrubbing away vomit from bedsheets, pillowcases, blankets, and clothes. At first we thought both of them threw up but after analyzing the crime scene and the suspects, we found out it was just sean, and he woke up sharlene by puking on her side too.(i know, i know, way to freak shar out sean)
We had to put them back in the crib and in our room, no question. Sean puked some more that night and ended up sleeping beside me (poor guy :( he was puking every few mins till around 5am) we took him to the ER that morning as he still threw up the milk he drank that am and found out he has stomach flu caused by a virus (which kind, we never found out since they didnt get to check his vomit) and ended up getting all 3 of us sick, but that's another story.
So day two, we weren't expecting much. We tried again to make them take their nap in their beds, which went quite well, sean fell asleep first (gotta be tired, poor guy) shar took more effort but eventually gave in. We opted to make them sleep in their cribs for the night though. This same night was a challenge too since they weren't allowed to have milk, and that being still a staple of 'nay-nay' time, we had to put up with prolonged whining and begging for 'buba'
So today, day 3, is better than the 2 previous days. By a mile.
Naptime was a breeze. Sean fell asleep on his chair after lunch so i only needed to transfer him, and since shar didn't have runny no.2 for more than 24hrs, i gave her a little milk and she fell asleep just as quickly.
Tonight im happy to say that as of 11pm they are both in deep slumber, no vomitting so far and no runny no. 2's either after giving both of them milk.
Crossing my fingers, and hoping in all hopes that they'd sleep through the night. But then again, its only the 3rd night. So wish us luck. Lol!

aren't their beds cute? its supposed to have stickers on the headboard too but they took it out on day 2. and yes, sean always sleeps like that, or on his tummy with his butt sticking out. LMAO!
